Organic, Fair-trade Cacao Beans

Cacao is one of the highest sources of magnesium found in nature and is chock full of antioxidants, calcium, zinc, copper, and selenium. It contains more antioxidants per gram than blueberries, goji berries, red wine, and pomegranates. Moreover, cacao triggers three neurotransmitters associated with elevating mood and mental wellbeing: serotonin, dopamine, and phenylethylamine.
We sustainably source our organic trinitario cacao beans directly from a farm called Finca Elvesia in the Dominican Republic.
These cacao beans produce a rich and bold chocolate with balanced earthy flavors and coffee notes.

Organic Unrefined Maple Sugar

The unrefined maple sugar used to sweeten our chocolate is sourced from a family farm in the US.
It contains antioxidants and inulin, a prebiotic that helps fuel the good bacteria in your gut.
Additionally, maple sugar has a lower glycemic index than white sugar, brown sugar, honey, and molasses, making a better sweetener choice for those with diabetes or other blood sugar issues.

Our chocolatiers clean, roast, crack, grind, blend, and temper our chocolate at their facility in San Diego. This bean-to-bar approach allows our chocolatiers to have total control over the chocolate making process, resulting in a more complex flavor you can taste.
